For my money, I will still take the risk of allergies against the risk of rabies. I live in one of the highest risk areas of the world for rabies, and we have almost no dogs who succumb to this disease. Yes, we need more research into vaccines and the other effects, but lets never ever forget that most of us have never seen a dear and trusted friend die of rabies, distemper or a variety of other deadly diseases.
